Well the heavens opened, the winds started and the electricity went out. Yup, I was there by myself, actually sent to the center of the condo for a bit as the winds really picked up. It got really hairy for a little while, but it was kind of cool. Was hoping to catch a tornado on my cell, put this is what I got instead. We headed back home after the weather began to cooperate. Great times, can't wait to go back. Hopefully, soon.

Barbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03471957729220446929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6065143414365189916.post-62598619024860353842009-06-11T22:51:00.009-04:002009-06-22T10:11:47.260-04:00Half a Century OldHalf a Century ........are you kidding me
Wow, so half a century ago, (yes, 50 years) I entered into this wonderful world. Anyway, last summer when we were on the plan flying to the Outer Banks, Chuck was looking at the flight magazine that they always have on the plane, and there was an article about San Antonio and the Riverwalk and it was at that time I decided that was going to be his 50th birthday present as well as our anniversary gift to him. (We celebrated out 13th anniversary on Mother's Day). I had it all worked out and got to dream about it for a little while, but instead here are the gifts that he received:

1) Front porch: had to be added so that we had protection from the rain. Wish my kids were little, so we could go outside and make snow angels in the snow. I grew up in New Jersey and we did that all winter long. Instead, Natalie, is upstairs chillin, Bryan is driving home from a weekend in Athens, Caitlyn is having a fun snow day with her friends and boyfriend, while Chuck and I are sit here, in front of a blazing fire, watching the snow, watching movies, I'm cooking soup and pizza, and enjoying the scenery. I love this. I did get Natalie to go outside for a bit so I could take some pics. (Wow, now it's coming down really hard again). Maybe I can convince Natalie to go back outside and lay in it so i can get just one snow angel. I did get Hollie out there and took some pics of her. Man she needs a bath, as she doesn't look white compared to the snow. There is a pretty good chance there will not be school tomorrow, or maybe we will get to go in late. The roads will surely freeze up and if the buses can't run we can't have school. I'd love just one day and then I'll be ready for spring weather.

I did go out to the grocery store to get the stuff for soup, and everyone else was there. It was kind of funny. You would think that the snow was around for days, but it was neat. Reminded me of when I was little and we all did have to run to the store to get the basics for a few days in side. I didn't let it bother me, because everyone is enjoying this.

Well, I'll post a few pics, try and get Natalie outside for some more, and I know Caitlyn will take a ton, so may post some of those too.Barbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03471957729220446929noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6065143414365189916.post-32442290785659396762009-02-28T12:11:00.012-05:002009-02-28T13:17:16.196-05:00Just another Saturday

Well, I slept in a bit today, as I was up at 4:00 and couldn't go back to sleep. So, here is a little bit about our gang. Chuck and I have been married almost 13 years. We met New Year's Eve, 1993 when a neighbor introduced us, but to be honest we just really didn't hit it off then. Several months later, August 1994 to be exact, we did go out for the first time, and well the rest is history. We were married May 10,1996 and because we fell in love, we have "The Gang" and what a wonderful "gang" we have.

I have three children from my first marriage, Natalie 22, Bryan 19 and Caitlyn 16. Chuck also has three from his first marriage, Nick 30, Chad 28 and Cole 24. We have 3 grandchildren. Austin, Olivia and Meredith. Austin and Olivia are Nick and Sherry's two children and Meredith is Chad and Carrie's little girl.

It is a crazy life, but we love it and we have a lot of fun when we all get together. We are very fortunate that all 6 children live in this area and we hope that they will all remain here. We've had to deal with Chad and Carrie living out of state until last weekend, when they moved back to Atl. from Tampa. Yeah!!!

Well, I think I will go ahead and get this first entry posted.

God bless you all

Barbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03471957729220446929noreply@blogger.com0
